A native New Orleanian who has spent the past 29 years as a primary care doctor in several practice settings in the New Orleans Metro Area.

In 2020, she made a career shift and completed a Geriatrics fellowship at George Washington University, in DC. She is now poised to care for older adults with a heightened sense of dignity and attention to the processes of aging in a full and balanced life.

Dr. Hickson is a published author in geriatric research and is committed to expanding the breadth of knowledge around how older adults age. Through her clinical work and ongoing research, she seeks to contribute meaningful data that informs best practices in geriatric care.

Currently, Dr. Hickson serves as the Medical Director at Healthcare for the Homeless for the New Orleans Health Department.
